Today marks one week in Regensburg, Germany. They say that the first week is always the hardest and OF COURSE they were right.
The first night was probably the hardest as I manically tried to figure out how to connect to the internet in my room via ethernet cable (how is there no wifi????) and also managed to lug my 30kg suitcase up 4 flights of stair. I met my first room mate Marietta who helped me out with all my ridiculous questions and lent me her ethernet cable. It was lovely of her to do that, of which I am super grateful for. But, unfortunately it didn't work and I fell asleep in this alien place completely isolated from everything that was comforting at the early time of 7pm.
The second day I woke up feeling exhausted from jet lag and realised that I had not eaten since the plane at 5 am on the previous day. I NEEDED FOOD AND SUSTENANCE. I mustered up some courage to leave and got to the closest supermarket Netto only to realise that I left my wallet at home.... I also then met my second room mate bene who was super nice and offered me well wishes on my embarrassing return for my wallet. I then ran into a fellow exchanger from my uni Yu Yan and
The Wednesday was a start to my university experience here with
From Wednesday to Friday it was pretty much uni and sleep and uni and shop and uni and uni.
On Friday night all the exchange students went to a welcome drinks at a bar called Picasso which was a terrible bar filled with relatively okay students.... Nothing special. I also tried my first Doner!
But I did go on a tour around Regensburg today. I kicked a 1000 year old arch and saw a feminist rally next to an 800 year old church????
I would say that the first 2 days were hard but, everything is coming up Milhouse.
Tchüss~~~
